Diana Barley with square rose is a door handle that expresses a sober and rigorous classic taste. The design of the grip, balanced and well proportioned, gives the handle a decisive and orderly architectural character. The grip is decorated with the guilloché technique in the Barley motif, inspired by the barley ear motif, made through regular engravings that enhance the surface of the brass. This finish enriches the tactile experience and improves the grip, combining function and elegance. Designed as a handle for doors and windows, Diana interprets Italian design as a synthesis of decorative tradition, construction quality and attention to detail, integrating naturally into classical and contemporary environments.

Diana Barley design story

The Barley decoration reprises the classic “barley grain” motif of the guilloché tradition: the weave of dense, chasing engravings gives the handle a brilliant and sophisticated allure.

Unlike the incision tout court, made by hand, which lends itself to a freer and more naturalistic decoration, the one made with the machines à guillocher is typically mechanical and repetitive, but it allows an endless variety of different patterns as the processing parameters vary, combining with the operator’s technical, but also aesthetic, sensitivity.
