Diana Barley
Diana Barley with square rose is a door handle that expresses a sober and rigorous classic taste. The grip is decorated with the guilloché technique in the Barley motif, inspired by the barley ear motif, made through regular engravings that enhance the surface of the brass. Diana Barley design story
The Barley decoration reprises the classic “barley grain” motif of the guilloché tradition: the weave of dense, chasing engravings gives the handle a brilliant and sophisticated allure.
Unlike the incision tout court, made by hand, which lends itself to a freer and more naturalistic decoration, the one made with the machines à guillocher is typically mechanical and repetitive, but it allows an endless variety of different patterns as the processing parameters vary, combining with the operator’s technical, but also aesthetic, sensitivity.
